We are, Olen (the beautiful wife) and Puput (the gondrong husband) a couple who treats our everyday as holiday. We love to travel in and outside the country. One thing for sure, aside from business trip, we only carry our backpacks!
A little cute new backpackologist has joined the squad. Introducing:
Olen is an ex journalist, she worked for a humanitarian organization in post-tsunami Aceh and the United Nations for several years. She is now a content full time mom. She was an ex contributor for (late) Yahoo Travel and wrote travel stories for other media. Her published work includes Wisata Hemat Phuket (Elex Media), Backpacking Vietnam (Elex Media), Family Backpacking – Singapore Malaysia (Elex Media), and Finding Islam (Kultum Media). Aside from travelling, Olen loves reading books and watching series on murders, especially on serial killers.
Puput is working for an energy company. He loves photography, diving, and mountaineering. His life dream is to conquer Kilimanjaro together with his kid(s). He cannot live without tempe and chili.
Together, Olen and Puput have published Backpacking Keliling Malaysia (Elex Media).
Oliq is currently more than 6 years old (born on June 2011)
just over 2 years old. He has visited 22 8 countries including his home country, Indonesia, and flew with 15 10 airlines. Why does it matter? Because he is obsessed with planes. The most important thing in the world for him is to have fast internet connection so he can watch planes video on YouTube.
The family lives in Crawley, United Kingdom. It’s just nearby London Gatwick Airport, our home airport now. We just move by end of 2018 after living in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia for almost 4 years. While Yogyakarta, or simply known as Jogja, is our truly hometown, we already called Kuala Lumpur our second hometown.
Now we also have a family homestay called OmahSelo Family Guest House Jogja. It’s strategically located in Perumnas Condong Catur, Sleman Regency, Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta (DIY) province. It’s only around 20 minutes from Adisucipto International Airport of Yogyakarta. For more detail, please click our OmahSelo page.
